A passion for innovation meets the spirit of a new generation
My name is Agustina L. Hobbs. I come from a family of storytellers: farmers and winemakers with deep roots in the land and a profound respect for the values and traditions passed down over generations. Along with this heritage comes a relentless curiosity and the unwavering desire to forge new paths in the pursuit of excellence. Now, I am beginning to write my own story on the foundation my father, Paul Hobbs, has built.
Ever since I can remember, I have loved working with wine. It was what made me feel close and connected to my father. I remember being six years old, holding his hand while walking through the vineyards in Argentina and tasting Malbec grapes right before harvest. When I was 12, he took me to Tokyo as he opened the Japanese market for Paul Hobbs Wines. At 14, I accompanied him to Bordeaux, visiting cooperages and tasting wines alongside some of the most prominent winemakers in the world.

My first job was in the cellar at age 15. I studied Viticulture and Enology at Cornell University, then traveled to immerse myself in different aspects of the industry, working harvests in France and Argentina and exploring the commercial side of wine in Hong Kong and Japan.
I have always been determined to create my own path, just as my father did in his career. As my journey unfolded, I began to understand that finding independence wasn’t about forsaking my roots. It was about returning to them with the richness of experience and a fresh perspective. To carry on my father’s legacy of meticulous care in the vineyards and minimal intervention in the cellar, while also exploring the unfamiliar and unconventional. To embrace the challenge of upholding the standards he has set while boldly pushing even further to reimagine what the future can be.
Just like my father, I am committed to constant improvement. The work, as one might say, has just begun.
The father-daughter partnership of Agustina and Paul Hobbs embodies both a lifetime commitment to excellence and a dynamic vision for the future.
